1A nil-nil first half where Lakehill had one chance that just missed the goal (Maressa) and another where the Sooke keeper easily made the save. The first half was one where both teams had to adjust to the bounce of the ball and the faster playing surface and the resulting numerous throw ins.
The second half saw most of the play in the midfield or Sooke end of the field but LakeHill was unable to mount any goal scoring opportunities. Sooke was content to try to feed their two fast forwards (Taylor and ??). Sooke was able to mount one counter attack and split the LakeHill defense for what turned out to be the only goal of the game. Sooke was first to the ball and deserved to end 2007 with 3 points.
