Green light for Turf at Braefoot!

Lakehill Soccer held a Club-wide meeting at Reynolds Secondary School to discuss the recently approved plans to install Artifical Turf at Braefoot Park! We'll be posting a list of volunteer positions we require to identify between now and February in order to plan out the next step. Based upon this we will decide to start this year or next with the implementation plan! Funding is going VERY well, the next step is identifying the correct resources!

Dec.1st game schedule

JdF - CVSA*
Sooke*-SaltSpring
BU-R*-Gorge
PSC=bye
Gordon Head - BU-S
LH-PLSC
another interesting weekend of matches! JdF is coming off of a 4 goal spree against PSC and may be looking to upset CVSA! Sooke will want to rebound from their unexpected defeat last weekend. While the Rebels will look to put some more points into their account (currently at 26)! The Spartans will be looking for their first points in the u15G Silver division but Gordon Head is coming off of a great result vs the Rebels! Gorge has a lot of speed up front and with Jamie on the wing and her strong kicks Gorge may be able to steal a point from the Rebels..unless Tina and Carley get the three points first! Should be an exciting match at Carnarvon! The 'other' match of the week will see the 'rested' PLSC team playing against LakeHill. PLSC has always given the LakeHill 93s lots of problems and also LakeHill's 1st loss of the 2007/8 season !
This should be the Match of the Week!

Jessica's day!...

LakeHill Reds secured three valuable points on game day #11 to reach a tie for first spot with the BaysU Rebels who saw a 2-nil lead vs Gordon Head almost slip away but still earned a point for a 2-2 draw! The newly promoted Spartans have a lot of speed up front and will do well in the Silver division. Their player of the day was their speedy #8 (Madeline),

LakeHill 4 - BaysUnited Spartans 0

Dani was a key play maker on the front line, working hard and set up many of the goals today!

Hey Robert, Halowe'en is over!

Total team effort today! ... 'Jessica earned a 'hat trick', Bri had the opening goal, Callie her third straight 'shut out', Daniella had an amazing thread pass (one of many)..Lisa, Kirsten, Jenna, Celine where all very strong in mid-field.. Clair anchored the back that along with Christina, Dayle, Michelle collaborated to only yield two shots on goal for our BaysU Spartans opponents! Tabitha relished the opportunity to play in the front half of the field! The players played a strong second half making up for the lack of finish in the first half! But as the coaches said they where not looking at the scoreline as closely as they where looking at the play! We missed Maressa,Stef and Tanis and hope to see you at the Compton Fitness Gym on Monday with Kat and Zeke!!
in other weekend games the scores where:

Bays United Rebels 2 --Gordon Head Kaos 2
Salt Spring 0 -- Cowichan Valley 3
Sooke 1 -- Gorge Canadians 3
PSC 0 -- JdF 4
PLSC=Bye

Agility and Strength Training - hour 2

Start with some arm wrestling where you are on one leg and your body can't touch the ground...sounds easy? you try it! The players enjoyed it and got a great work out! Zeke and Kat make circuit training fun each week!
Jumping over a team mate takes some trust! As Zeke said 'PLEASE no injuries before your weekend game'!!!
(above) Christina jumping over LakeHill co-coach Kat
What you don't see is that Dayle and Jenna are balancing on one-wheel Skate Boards!
Some ankle strengthening work
mid-body strengthening...watching Kat do 30 reps in 15 seconds was pretty inspiring!
Great Monday session at Compton Sports Training ladies! We'll be back to working with a soccer ball on Wednesday, likely in the Braefoot school gym.

Team defense earns points

On a day when LakeHill closed all their club fields the Reds where travelling up to Sherman Rd in Duncan for the 2nd leg of their 'home and away' series! Coming off of their first ever win against the BaysU Rebels the players knew they where in for a tough match vs the Lawrie CVSA team. The Duncan team has let in only 4 goals in their last 8 games! All reports reaching back to Braefoot indicated this was another defensive battle with a 0-0 half time score. We'll have to wait for the Coaches Report but there are rumours of Celine scoring to earn a narrow win...

Reminder: Monday night Agility Training with Zeke and Kat at Compton..5.50pm bring your runners, cleats, shin guards and expect to go to the field directly afterwards (if the field is open)!

New team added for Round 2...

With the BaysU Rebels having been the winner of Round 1 of the 2007-8 LISA u15G Silver division all teams now have at least 8 games of action behind them and focus on the upcoming Round 2 matches! New in round 2 is a second BaysU team , the Spartans which means that there will now be a 'bye' for one team each weekend! As a result of a new schedule lakeHill will have a string of four home games following this weekends trip to Duncan!
vs
