Ferry Trip to Salt Spring!

The Players and their families had to get up early to meet at the Swartz Bay ferry by 8.30am! The team enjoyed the trip across and arrived at Portlock Park in time for a warm up and a pre-game chat from co-coach Bruce. The earlier start suited the players well as they quickly got down to work and came out continuing their good play they exhibited the previous week! Robert called from Braefoots' Soccer Central at half time and was told that the game was going well! It was not till the game was over that he learned that this was:

Dani found the back of the net F O U R times to be one of 16 players of the match!!

Celine managed to get the ball BELOW the cross bar this game and earned her first league goal in 2 seasons ! An impressive goal by Lisa was welcomed by the coaches! SaltSpring responded by sneaking two balls behind the LakeHill goal to end the eight goal feast!

Thanksgiving weekend LakeHill u15G tourney

Next weekend will be a busy one for the LakeHill Reds...

Saturday 2.15pm at Beckwith field we will play our LISA league match vs Gordon Head



following that our games in the 8th annual LakeHill Girls tournament will begin with a Saturday evening match vs the PORT McNEIL u15 Team



early Sunday we return for another hour long match vs LADYSMITH



based on the points we get in those two matches we will play a playoff round against a team from the other u15 division (JDF,PSC,SurDel) to see who gets to the championship match on the Monday! So keep your calendars free! The actual info over game times and fields for the Tournament games will be announced this weekend...

Game 2 at Glanford Park

Paul Askew has once again assembled a competitive Lakers team that both lays the ball off and kicks the ball well. A goal against in both halves that came as a result of defensive let-downs for the Reds. The Reds certainly had their chances to level the game in the second 40 minutes with two posts and one excellent shot by Celine that was just tipped over the post by the PLSC keeper.

Overall the LakeHill girls can be happy with the improved effort and especially the second half. Next game is a 'road trip' to Salt Spring Island!

PLSC has nice new unis this season! While some players miss the the Aston Villa/Westham colours of their former club ;)

Thanks to both Goalies: Jessica and Maressa for great efforts! Clair, Lisa, Dayle, Jenna, Dani, Tabitha all had strong games! At the end of 80 minutes the entire team can be pleased with their individiual work ethic. The coaches will turn up the intensity in the weekly practices starting on Monday!

LakeHill Thanksgiving weekend Girls Tournament received official BC Soccer sanction!

This tournament is being run by the LakeHill u12G and u15G girls divisions!

The girls started the season with a good first 20 minutes of play and nice goals from both Bri and Dani after that the game swung to CVSA who sustained pressure in the LakeHill end for long stretches. CVSAs's speedy number 61 (Zoe) got one back for Cowichan in the first half to see out the games scoring. CVSA had more shots on goal than the Reds but Callie came up big to earn the victory for the home team!

Players of the game: *many* especially Callie, Dayle, Lisa! Well done players!

Coach Val and co-coach Kat noticed lots of areas for improvement, the fitness level is not where it has to be to sustain a 80 minute match, however the three earned points are a nice way to start the season and to build on! See you all this Monday at practice!

This season sees a u15G Silver division consisting of 10 teams! That means we will be playing some teams for the first time in many seasons! Salt Spring and Gordon Head will both be new additions!

HOME FIELD SCHEDULE

With our hosting this years Girls tournament on October 6th I will try to schedule around the league game...but it may have to be rescheduled! I will let everyone know soon!

Last week of the pre-season...

Regular practices begin on Monday 7pm at Braefoot#1 and at the end we will hand out the uniforms! New this year is the number 23 ..but its a size S!

Every player will receive new shorts (at no cost and for keeps..) the club issued Red socks are to follow soon!
